Flower and Willow by Luvnatsu Flower and Willow by Luvnatsu
Megurine Luka from VOCALOID - Project DIVA
Hana ver.

~~~~~~
I have a love and hate relationship with this costume. I love it because I have always wanted to make an outfit with big sleeves. I intentionally made three layers of sleeves - one for each color. The red and purple fabrics are satin and the black is brocade. I hate it because the gold obi had given me a hard time in sewing. It is made out of metallic brocade. No matter what sewing needles I used, the metallic threads in the fabric kept giving me trouble. But I'm still happy with how it turned out because the gold definitely makes the focal point of the whole outfit!
I absolutely love your cosplay. I want to make this one in particular myself, but am not as skilled as you. Do you have any advice on how to make it?
Thank you. There are so many parts in this costume that I can write forever about it. Do you have anything in particular that you want to know?
Haha, that would be a big help.. Well, I am no professional, but I do what I can. I guess the part that would give me the most trouble is the top. & the Obi. (actually an instruction book would be fabulous/ by all means- write forever)
I modified a kimono pattern for the top. Joann has a kimono pattern. You can check it out. Basically I changed the shape of the sleeves so the different colors/fabrics show up in the proper place.
The obi is a simple wide rectangular belt. The bow was made separately and then attached to the belt by hand sewing. Remember to interface the fabric to give it a better shape. And then the purple flora pattern was hand painted on using fabric paints.
